“Krishnam Vande jagath Gurum” …...Late Smt.Lakshmi Devamma in 1962 founded sri Geetha mahila samithi in order to bring together ladies of vysya community and perform various activities
Sri Krishna Temple , located in Vasavi Temple premises is known as GEETHA MANDIRAM. Sri Vasavi Geetha Mahila Samithi is one the active groups associated to this temple to perform all the programs and festivals in Sri Krishna Temple.

 

Acivities at Geetha Mandiram

 

→ Daily Pooja and Mahamangala Harthi is performed to Lorrd Sri Krishna Paramatma.
→ Sri Bhagavath Geetha parayanam is done by Sri vasavi lalitha Kalashale on every Thursday
→ “Geetha Jayanthi” – it is the day of birth for the Holy Epic Sri Bhagavadh Geetha. It is one of the major festivals celebrated in Sri Krishna Temple for period of 5 days in idealistic way. As a part of Geetha jayanthi celebrations Abshekam,Sahasranamarchane,shodashopachara pooja , Mantra Pushpam,Mahamangalaharathi are done to Lord Sri Krishna and Mahaprasadam (Anna Santarpane) is given to the devotees .Various competitions like 'Bhagavadh Geetha Quiz','Anthakshari','Painting','Fancy Dress' is organized by the Directors of Mahila samithi.

 

Geetha Homam,Chanting of Vishnu Sahasranamam & Bhagavadh Geetha, Satyanarayana Swamy pooja take place and the celebrations end on a full moon day with procession of Idols of Sri Krishna in wooden chariot.

 

→ “Vaikunta Ekadashi” is an important festival which is dedicated to Lord Krishna in the Dhanurmasa period. Vaikunda Ekadasi festival is of great significance where Vaikunta Dwaram’ or ‘the gate to the heaven’ remain open on this day. The Idols of Radha and Krishna are placed on the swing. This is the passage encircling the innermost sanctum of the Lord. Scores of devotees queue up to pass through the Gate of Vaikunta in the Geetha Mandhir.

→ Janmastami is celebrated with enormous zeal and enthusiasm in Geetha Mandira and Lord krishna is beautifully garlanded by special flowers with silk fabric and exqusite oranments.Different varieties of fruits and snacks, sweets are prepared for lord krishna.More than 108 different varieties of food items are prepared and are offered to the Lord. An Idol of Bala Krishna is placed in silver cradle and special poojas and bhajans are performed which is then followed by distributing the prasadham.
→ During Ekadashi in Ashadamasam,all the chanting of all 18 chapters of Bhagavadhgeetha takes place with immense devotion and dedication. Special Tulasi pooja is also performed to Lord Sri Krishna along with the chanting of Vishnu Sahasranama.
→ Special pooja, Abhishekam is performed to lord Sri Krishna on all the festival days and Bhagavadh Geetha Quiz, Quiz on Lord Krishna and other competitions are conducted.

 

During all the occasions, Lord Sri Krishna Paramatma is exceptionally decorated and all the poojas are performed by 'veda Bramha ' ,shri Suresh Sharma and his dedicated team.
